First, you need to get the EC2 private IP address where WordPress database is running. Go to Services, EC2, Instances. Add “wordpress-db.onpremsim.env” as a filter. Then, select the EC2 instance and write down the IP in Private IPs field:
The IP address above is only an example. Your IP address may be different.
Return to Database Migration Services (DMS) service. Go to Services, Database Migration Services.
In the navigation pane, click Endpoints, then select Create endpoint.
Endpoint type: Source endpoint.
In Endpoint configuration:
The IP address above in the field Server name is only an example. Your IP address may be different. Use the IP address that you wrote down in step 1
Expand Test endpoint connection. Select:
After the successful status, click on Create endpoint
In the navigation pane, click Endpoints, then select Create endpoint.
Select Endpoint type: Target endpoint.
Check box Select RDS DB instance and select the RDS Instance: wordpressdb.
In Endpoint configuration:
All other settings can be used as the default values.
Expand Test endpoint connection and select:
After the successful status, click on Create endpoint
